What My is illness.com

I was thinking that a simple website where anyone can post their symptoms when feeling or being sick could be very useful.
It would give you a possible list of illnesses
A comprehensive risk factor
Simple advices
and statistics ( for exemple the percentage of the population who had that illness)

This is what we are heading to. The USA are developping such things. they don’t have enough doctors and need to increase their efficiency in order to be able to provide healthcare to everyone.
But the case here is more about information most doctor visits are useless and people spend money and waste the doctors time just to be reassured

Well, there is loads of website already doing so, it could actually be handy for people who a good capacity of judgment so that they would know if they just need to stay in bed or call for a doctor. Problem is: it is more likely that those website will be used by the lower class of the population, which is often people who haven’t had the chance to develop their ability of reasoning, as for the upper classes who has…well they also got the money to go see doctors.
In the end, people might think they have an illness they don’t, and they might stop trusting people who actually studied medicine, which is already starting….
To sum up: good idea, but dangerous one, and incomplete.

I don’t think there is any risk to this. No bigger than the doctor making a mistake. It only information. like a wikipedia of illnesses and experiences were it would be moderated by real certified doctors.
