JobPrize – An Online Crowd-sourced Job Referral Network

August 11, 2010 in Internet, Technology, Workplace

Job Prize is a new website platform that wants to introduce itself in the recruiting market. As we all know network and referals are what recruiting and finding  a job is all about. Either you do it yourself or you use a recruitment agency.

This divides the market into to different groups.

  1. Job Seekers – The seeker is a simple person who is looking for the perfect job
  2. Prize Hunters – Is what you could call a agent that looks for opportunities and offers them to job seeker.

This is nothing new it is the job agencies do all the time and they are thousands of them. But what this website brings is that it becomes a “crowd-sourced agency” the community is run by itself and every one can have a go, furthermore they have nothing to loose. Everyone can also be both a seeker or a hunter.

For a seeker he has the advantage of benefiting from interesting job opportunities, on the other side the prize hunter can enjoy reward for the jobs he posts. Basically the slogan is “who wouldn’t pay 500 dollars to lend a 75’000 dollars job”.

I’m still waiting to see if it is a success, the main risk is that agencies could easily introduce themselves in there and kind of defeat the purpose of real referral. To be followed
