Idea “Competitions”
February 20, 2010 in Spotted Ideas
While reading an article in Wired magazine where they did on report for the funniest and most useless Blogs. I thought man I could create a stupid blog that would amuse people.
The I thought if we did “Competitions” on SmartIdeabox for random ideas in markets that already exist. For example giving members the opportunity to give their stupid blog idea and then rewarding the best rated idea and giving this member a reward “Badge”.
This would increase entertainment but also put an emphasize on we are doing = “Brain Storming”. If anyone finds a Market GAP he can create a competition and ask members if they have an idea to fill this gap.
It is kind of Similar to the soon to be opened wanted idea section but I like the idea of competition, everyone loves to compete and win!….maybe win
What do you think. In long term this would also be an opportunity for interested companies to easily create a competition for their product. It would be create advertisement for them and might bring them amazing ideas for 0$ or more even better by rewarding the best idea!
What do you think?

Man we have already talked about your conclusion many times in previous posts. Crowd sourcing is definitely what we are in, and yes the wanted ideas is designed for companies. We need to grow a community in order for it to work but then yeah, companies who want to get new vantage points on anything will be able to take advantage of the sib community and offer prize money for the best answers they get. And of course we’ll get to keep some. I don’t see what’s new in here?

Oh actually I must say that I like the badge part. We need to emphasis the users profiles and their “ranks”.

What’s new in this is FUN & ENTERTAINING random ideas that do no necessarily have money making potential but that are fun… Brainstorming has to remain fun and creative! don’t you think

Making the website a little bit funnier is not a bad idea.

I think so too but we need to make sure we manage to separate fun from serious otherwise its bad for both sides

have a look at this more and more companies create competition we NEED to inform our members about all those competitions so they can participate and team up with other members!!!

this would also become a advantage for members

Pretty much interesting. I don’t know why I did think about that earlier but this is an article I read a long time ago about netflick and idea competition: http://brainstormtech.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2009/09/21/box-office-boffo-for-brainiacs-the-netflix-prize/
Crowd sourcing is the future.
In the pdf that you linked in your post there are some links, principally to that: http://www.ideacrossing.com/
They provide firms with an idea competition script apparently, but not with the crowd! And in the second link that you shared, which is very interesting too, every firm seems to be doing it on it’s own.
So I think that building a social network is the hardest thing to achieve but this is really where we could differentiate and find our added value. Moreover there is no clear monopolist yet.

I had got a desire to begin my organization, nevertheless I did not have enough amount of cash to do this. Thank God my colleague recommended to take the home loans. Thus I received the term loan and realized my old dream.
